The sagittal plane is a vertical plane passing from the rear

The sagittal plane is a vertical plane passing from the rear (posterior) to the front (anterior) of the body, which divides into left and right halves. Movements such as walking and running take place in this plane. The frontal plane is also vertical and passes from the left side of the body to the right. Movements such as side stepping in badminton take place in this plane. The horizontal plane divides the body into top (superior) and bottom (inferior) halves. Movements such as squatting and jumping
vertically take place here. These 3 respective planes and axes of rotation are vital in assessing movement accurately.
