Finally, Steve Jobs Addressing Stanford University graduates States that life is tough but one should do what one loves. He lists some examples like ‘keeping on looking don’t settle” and ” stay hungry and foolish”. In 2005 the graduating class of Stanford University received an inspiring commencement speech from Jobs. Jobs, CEO of Apple Computer and Pixar Animation Studios bases his speech around one simple phrase, “you’ve got to find what you love” (Par. 15). He tells the graduates three different stories about his life. Behind each story are valuable lessons titled: connecting the dots, love and loss, and death. He explains to the students the importance of following your heart and that you have to trust that eventually things will be okay. He compares finding the right occupation to choosing a lover, “As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know it when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on” (Par.15). I think what Steve was trying to get across to those students that you only get one chance at life, so why waste it doing something that doesn’t make you happy?
