I have always wanted a career in the beauty industry ever since I was a little girl. I had always had a love for beauty I loved playing with makeup and would go to the store and buy lipstick instead of school lunch. That hasn’t changed much- I spend every moment trying to create wigs, practicing makeup and spending every last dime I earn on it. I never really shared my talent for hair and makeup until I reached High School. I have been able to create wigs, cut hair, dye hair, slay an eyebrow, and a face beat since then. Funny thing is that I do not believe I recognized the talent I had for beauty until others did.
My talent has made me more confident and I am no longer afraid to try new things- like shaving my hair off and dying it blue. What I realize is what makes you beautiful is the courage to try new things and the confidence to embrace it. That is what cosmetology has done for me, I am no longer afraid, and I am ready to take on the world. My hope is that my confidence can touch my clients and those who lost their beauty to superficial nonsense.
That drive for hair, makeup and style makes me the right fit for SONO Academy. I enjoy making other people look good it is a great feeling when someone leaves your chair with a smile. Working with clients’ hair and makeup is so exciting. Helping them to look their best helps my creative spark as I try new and attractive styles. Clients give you a lot of control over how they’re perceived by the people who see them. This is one of the reasons why being a stylist will is such a rewarding career. I enjoy working with my hands, I enjoy speaking with interesting people and I am considered a social butterfly; in cosmetology as a. licensed stylist, I will have the opportunity to talk to friends, co-workers and clients throughout the entire day. Every day will be different. Each client will have new stories whenever they visit.
A stylist, work environment delivers an artistic and innovative setting. Working in a salon with other motivated stylists on a schedule that suits my personality will be a dream. Learning things like how to better my craft will be an amazing opportunity and a step in the right direction in fore filling my future goals.
By pursing a promising career as a licensed cosmetologist while is a huge business and has the potential of making a lot of money. Some people enjoy working in an office. Being a stylist isn’t for everyone most cosmetologist work 40 hours week maybe more if own their own business. I envision myself owning my own salon doing what I love most making people feel confident, bold, and beautiful and putting in what ever work it takes for me to get there.
Attending SONO Academy is the first step toward a career that has a wide range of opportunities. The prospect of owning my own business, working on my talent daily is a challenge I look forward to.
